Will your business run out of cash in the next 13 weeks?

Enter your cash balance and your main payments, then push your numbers around. See what happens if sales fall, customers pay late, or a big bill lands at the wrong moment.

Where you are today

Use the balance on your business bank account. Enter amounts as they reach or leave your bank, including VAT.

Weeks run Monday to Sunday.
Leave at 0 if you have none.
The lowest balance you are comfortable with.

Money coming in

Cash you expect to receive, not invoices you have sent.

Money going out

Include everything that regularly leaves the account. Add your own lines at the bottom.

Stock and subcontractor costs usually fall when sales fall. Set this to 0 to keep supplier payments the same whatever happens to sales.

Adjust individual weeks

Your amounts above are spread across the weeks automatically. If a particular week is different, type the real figure here. Greyed numbers are the automatic ones.

How the numbers are worked out

  • Each payment is placed in the week it falls due. Monthly and quarterly payments repeat from the date you give.
  • Customers paying late: every receipt moves later by the days you choose, starting now. The first weeks therefore show the full cash gap.
  • A new employee is spread evenly across each week from their start week. On-costs are estimated at 15% employer NI above £5,000 plus 3% employer pension.
  • Lowest cash point is the lowest closing balance in the 13 weeks. Cash becomes critical in the first week the balance drops below zero.
